“I am very pleased with the results of my surgery. Thank you!”
Q: Does Plastic Surgery really work?
A: Plastic surgery does not replace the need for a healthy lifestyle and good skin care, but it can certainly help patients effectively restore their appearance and confidence. The myriad of plastic surgery shows on television has opened the door for everyday people to more openly discuss and explore plastic surgery, it has also helped create some unrealistic expectations.

At Revalla we believe that plastic surgery is an effective way to enhance or restore your natural beauty, it does not, however, transform you into a new person. People who are unhappy with their lives and look to plastic surgery to fix it often find that they remain unhappy. Fortunately, most of our patients are looking for subtle, natural looking results that simply restore their appearance.

Plastic surgery does carry risks and it is important that you take both the procedure and the recovery seriously. Listen to the instructions and advice from your surgeon and follow it diligently to help ensure a smooth recovery and desired results. By doing your homework, entrusting your care to a qualified and compassionate surgeon, and following your recovery guidelines, you can safely and effectively achieve your desired results.

Q: How long will the results last?
A: One of the most important things to remember about plastic surgery is that while it can “roll back the clock” it does not stop it from moving forward. In other words, the results of most procedures are permanent, but the effects of aging, gravity, and lifestyle will continue to take their toll. In addition, certain procedures may have more specific “life spans” such as breast augmentations which use implants that have some data on rupture rates and longevity. It is important to discuss with your surgeon your specific procedure and the likelihood of needing touch-up or subsequent procedures down the road.

Q: Are there less invasive procedures available?
A: For some, the thought of plastic surgery can still seem a rather drastic measure. The good news is that there are more options for rejuvenation than ever before. In fact, consumer interest has driven the significant increase in various treatments, particularly less invasive treatments. While many of these newer options are helpful and effective it is beneficial to be aware of marketing hype. No matter what your goals, you can usually find a range of options. The trick is to find the ones that are truly effective.

At Revalla, we continually research the range of options, from minimally invasive to full surgical. Many are viable options that we incorporate here or have recommendations of where to go for them. Some we find don’t produce quality results for the investment they require. We are always more than happy to discuss all of these options and provide you with all the information and experience we have.

Q: Do I need to wait to have surgery until I’m done having children?
A: This is a great question whose answer can vary depending on the procedure you’re interest in having. Generally speaking, it is best to put off having a tummy tuck until after children. Most other procedures are generally safe to have prior to having children, but it is best to discuss this with your surgeon so you understand any potential risks your procedure may have relating to future childbirth and/or breastfeeding.

Q: Am I too old to have surgery?
A: A very common question from our consultations, this one is easy. We believe you are never too old to look and feel your best. It is never age that limits your ability to have surgery. The more important question is: Am I physically healthy enough to safely have surgery? This is equally important for patients of all ages. At Revalla, we never overlook safety. You can be rest assured that we will conduct ample screenings to ensure you are medically cleared for surgery.
